KUWAIT CITY, Nov 27: Al-Qadsiya enters a must-win clash against its traditional rival Al-Arabi at 6:30 pm today in the tenth round of the preliminary phase of the Handball League. The match carries significant weight for both teams and will follow an important face-off between Al-Qurain and Al-Fahaheel at 5:00 pm. Both games are set to take place at the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Indoor Halls Complex.
Currently sitting in ninth place with 8 points from 4 wins and 5 losses, Al-Qadsiya faces a challenging situation as it battles to secure a top-six spot needed to advance to the Premier League stage.
On the other hand, Al-Arabi, with 14 points and high morale following a key victory over Al-Salmiya in the previous round, leads the standings and looks to consolidate its position.
Al-Arabi, Al-Salmiya, Burgan, Kuwait Club, and Kazma closely compete for the top five positions, while Al-Sulaibikhat, Al-Qadsiya, Al-Fahaheel, and Al-Qurain compete for the final qualification spot.
In the earlier game, Al-Qurain (seventh place) and Al-Fahaheel (eighth place) had 8 points each, though Al-Fahaheel held a game in hand. A win for Al-Fahaheel could significantly boost its chances of breaking into the qualification zone.
Recent matches saw Al-Yarmouk defeat Al-Sahel 35-28 and Al-Fahaheel claimed an impressive 35-18 win over Al-Tadamon.
