Al-Rayyan stands in Kuwait Club’s path to the Gulf Handball Championship final

MUSCAT, Feb 20: Kuwait Club will compete in the 41st Gulf Handball Championship semi-finals for Cup Champions Clubs, facing Qatar’s Al-Rayyan at 3:30 pm. The tournament, hosted by the Sultanate of Oman, runs until February 24 at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Muscat.

Following this clash, the second semi-final match will occur at 5:30 pm, featuring Qatar’s Al-Arabi against the winner of the Group One decider between Saudi Arabia’s Al-Noor and Oman’s Al-Seeb.

Kuwait Club secured its spot in the semi-finals by finishing second in Group Two, behind Al-Arabi of Qatar. Despite a loss to Al-Arabi, "Al-Abyad" earned victories over the UAE’s Dibba Al-Hisn and Oman’s representative, ensuring its progression. Meanwhile, Al-Rayyan of Qatar topped Group One, with the second qualification spot contested between Al-Seeb and Al-Noor, with the latter having the edge.

Additionally, matches to determine the fifth to seventh-place rankings will also take place tomorrow.

Sameh Al-Hajri, leader of the Kuwait Club delegation, expressed his hope that the team would deliver strong performances that reflect Kuwaiti sports' reputation. He emphasized the significance of this championship in uniting GCC nations through sports and providing players with valuable experience on the regional stage.
