Al-Sabah Hospital, one of Kuwait's top medical facilities: official
Minister of Health Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi inaugurates the exhibition accompanying the conference

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 19:  Minister of Health Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi praised Al-Sabah Hospital on Saturday, highlighting its status as a leading scientific reference and one of Kuwait's most prestigious medical institutions. He commended the hospital for achieving an exceptional level of excellence, crediting its highly efficient staff for their significant contributions.

Speaking during the opening of Al-Sabah Hospital's first scientific conference, Al-Awadhi noted that this level of success would not have been possible without the sincere efforts and hard work of the hospital's team, who are dedicated to advancing health services in Kuwait.

Al-Awadhi also highlighted some key achievements at the hospital in recent years. Among them was the opening of the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit for Children, the first of its kind in Kuwait. This state-of-the-art unit treats children with epilepsy and is equipped with the latest technology, contributing to a reduction in the number of cases requiring treatment abroad.

Another significant development was the expansion of the Digestive System Unit, which increased the capacity of endoscopy rooms, provided modern equipment, and introduced services such as endoscopic biliary tract (ERCP) and ultrasound (EUS) procedures. These improvements have helped reduce waiting times and increased the number of patients benefiting from the unit's services.

Additionally, Dr. Al-Awadhi pointed to the opening of the Critical Care Unit for Children in 2022, the first of its kind to provide integrated services for children with special needs. The hospital has also introduced new specialized clinics, including a breast surgery clinic, a tumor treatment clinic, a reconstructive surgery clinic, and a diabetic foot surgery clinic. Furthermore, advanced technologies have been introduced for examining and treating blood flow, enhancing the hospital's capabilities.
