KUWAIT CITY, Emirati equestrian Mohammed Jassim Al Sarkal praised the significant progress in Kuwaiti equestrianism, particularly in dressage, in recent times. He attributed this development to the organization of numerous championships, backed by the support and patronage of Sheikha Fajr Badr Al Sabah and Sheikh Sabah Al Mubarak, as well as the enthusiasm and dedication of equestrian enthusiasts in the sisterly State of Kuwait.
Al Sarkal shared, "I decided to visit Kuwait last week to meet Sheikha Fajr Badr Al Sabah, whom I’ve known for many years, dating back to the early stages of my equestrian career. Since then, we’ve worked together to build a robust Arab equestrian community. Sheikha Fajr and her husband, Sheikh Sabah Mubarak Al Sabah, are the founders of Equiciety, a horse breeding and sports program, which has produced talented stallions and high-performance mares."
He continued, "I am grateful for Kuwait's warm hospitality, its love for equestrianism, and the presence of many ambitious dressage riders in the country. I’m genuinely excited about the future developments. During my visit, I had the pleasure of meeting some exceptional Kuwaiti riders, and their passion for dressage and commitment to strengthening the community, with a focus on the fundamentals, was truly inspiring. I quickly grew close to riders Abdullah Al-Amer and Ibrahim Ismail, and I am thankful for their guidance during my time in Kuwait."
Concluding his visit, Al Sarkal stated, “I wrapped up my trip by attending the 11th edition of the Atyab Al-Marshood International Show Jumping Championship, alongside fellow riders. The Al-Marshood Championship is Kuwait’s largest and most prestigious show jumping competition.”
Accompanied by Sheikha Fajr Badr Al-Sabah, Sheikh Sabah Al-Mubarak, and riders Abdullah Al-Amer and Ibrahim Ismail, Al Sarkal expressed his delight at the impressive advancements in Kuwaiti equestrianism.
