KUWAIT CITY, March 1: Former Kuwait national team and Kazma football club star Tariq Al-Shammari officially retired during the Zain Premier League clash between Kazma and Kuwait Club.
The match took place under the patronage of former National Assembly member Bader Sayyar Al-Shammari, while former National Assembly Speaker and Honorary President of Kuwait Club, Marzouq Al-Ghanim, honored the retiring star. Al-Shammari also received recognition from Kazma Club Treasurer Omar Al-Mulla, Kazma Board Member Abdullah Al-Duwaisan, and Kuwait Club team manager Adel Aqla.
Expressing his gratitude, Tariq Al-Shammari extended heartfelt thanks to Bader Sayyar for sponsoring his retirement match, as well as to Kazma’s Board of Directors for their unwavering support. He also acknowledged everyone who had been part of his football journey—from coaches and administrators to teammates—whether in the national team or at the club level.
“I will continue to support the game and the players, even after stepping away from the pitch,” Al-Shammari affirmed.
Meanwhile, the head of the retirement organizing committee, Falah Mohsen Al-Shammari, remarked that while Tariq Al-Shammari’s departure from football is bittersweet, it is a natural part of the sport. He also expressed appreciation to all the committees involved in organizing the event and thanked the media for their coverage.
