DOHA, April 26, (KUNA): Kuwaiti athletes Ahmad and Khaled Al-Sharaf captured three gold medals and one silver medal at the Qatar International Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship, held in Doha.
Khaled Al-Sharaf secured a gold medal in the 34-kilogram grey belt division and a silver medal in the 34-kilogram grey belt NO-GI category.
His brother, Ahmad Al-Sharaf, won two gold medals — one in the 27-kilogram grey belt division and another in the 27-kilogram grey belt NO-GI category.
Their father, Essa Al-Sharaf, told KUNA on Saturday that the championship, which concluded in Doha on Friday, featured top professional athletes from various countries.
He expressed his joy over his sons’ accomplishments and reaffirmed his continued support for their journey to achieve higher rankings and represent Kuwait proudly in international competitions.
Kuwaiti brothers Zaid and Abdulaziz Al-Sulaiteen captured four gold medals on Friday at the 2025 Qatar International Open Jiu-Jitsu Championship, currently taking place in Doha.
The duo dominated two styles of competition — with and without the suit.
Zaid Al-Sulaiteen secured two gold medals in the U-14, 41 kg category through submission grappling, while his brother Abdulaziz claimed two golds in the U-12, 20 kg division.
