KUWAIT CITY, Feb 12: Director of the Violations Removal Department at the Kuwait Municipality branch in Hawally Ayed Al-Qahtani has clarified that all existing car sheds are against the law and licenses have been suspended since 2014, while the licenses issued earlier will no longer be renewed, reports Al-Rai daily. Al-Qahtani told the daily that his department conducted extensive field tours for several months in various State properties to uncover violations.
He affirmed the department succeeded in reducing the number of car umbrellas as it has been consistent in issuing warnings and removing violations. He pointed out that “some people violate the law and endanger their lives, specifically those who set up umbrellas on the fences of power transformers. “Such an illegal practice is considered a hindrance to the work of the Ministry of Electricity and Water in case of emergency. “Cars should be parked at least four meters away from electric transformers.”
