KUWAIT CITY, March 24: Following the release of press statements by the Deputy Prime Minister and Acting Minister of Defense and Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef during the national holidays last month to declare that he will organize all sectors of the Ministry of Interior before the end of March, the ministry’s restructuring began with the promotion of five employees to the position of assistant undersecretaries in the ministry and the filling of vacant positions.

The assistant undersecretaries appointed directors general and their assistants. All leadership positions in all sectors of the ministry have been filled and the restructuring of the ministry has been completed. According to security sources, the ministry has put the final touches on the procedure for rotating and staffing the security directorates. It has decided to appoint Brigadier General Muhammad Rajab as the Director of the Ahmadi Security Department and Brigadier General Abdullah Hamoud as his assistant. Brigadier Saleh Oqla Al-Azmi has been appointed as the Director of Farwaniya Security Department and Brigadier General Nayef Al-Hajraf as his assistant. Brigadier Suleiman Al-Jarrah has been appointed as the Director of the Capital Security Department and Brigadier General Talal Al-Enezi as his assistant.

Brigadier Muhammad Mutlaq has been appointed as the Director of Mubarak Al-Kabeer Security Department and Brigadier General Khaled Bonashi as his assistant. Brigadier Ziad Al-Khatib has been appointed as the Director of Hawally Security Department and Brigadier General Hussein Dashti as his assistant. Brigadier Hamad Al-Tawala has been appointed as the Director of Jahra Security Department and Brigadier General Saqer Fayez Al-Enezi as his assistant. In a related context, a security source stressed that a large number of officers with the rank of “Brigadier General” had been transferred to the ministry’s headquarters. He explained that the officers transferred to the headquarters will retain the position’s allowance and its special allowances for a period of three months only.

They will be dropped after that unless he is seeking assistance or is assigned to any other position or work that requires the payment of allowances to him. The source indicated that a number of the officers who were referred to the ministry’s headquarters will submit requests for referral to retirement. In the same context, a ministerial decision was issued to appoint Major General Hamid Al-Baloul as the Assistant Undersecretary for Financial Affairs and Support Services along with his current position of the Assistant Undersecretary for the Affairs of the Office of the Minister of Interior.
