KUWAIAT CITY, Nov 7: The annual His Highness Crown Prince Shooting Championship will kick off on Saturday, at 8:30 am with the official training session for the "Trap" competition. This will be followed by equipment inspections for both the men's and women's events, culminating in the opening ceremony at 6:30 pm at the Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Shooting Range Complex.
The event will be held under the patronage of His Highness the Crown Prince, with the Governor of Farwaniya, Sheikh Athbi Al-Nasser, representing His Highness. Also attending will be members of the Kuwait Shooting Federation, the Arab Federation for Shooting, various ambassadors, officials, and heads of delegations from the participating teams.
The ceremony will feature a speech by Engineer Duaij Al-Otaibi, President of both the Kuwaiti and Arab Shooting Federations and Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee. Sheikh Athbi Al-Nasser, representing the Crown Prince, will then officially open the championship. The ceremony will conclude with a documentary film highlighting the development of Kuwaiti shooting, followed by an operetta celebrating Kuwaiti folk arts.
In a statement, Eng. Duaij Al-Otaibi expressed gratitude to His Highness the Crown Prince for his continued patronage of the championship.
“The Kuwaiti shooting family, both male and female shooters, are honoured by His Highness’s support for this event, which marks the beginning of the new season for the Kuwaiti Shooting Federation,” said Al-Otaibi.
He praised the Crown Prince’s unwavering support for the sport, which motivates athletes to excel in Gulf, Arab, Asian, international, and Olympic competitions, elevating the Kuwaiti flag at sporting events worldwide.
Al-Otaibi also thanked Sheikh Athbi Al-Nasser, the Crown Prince’s representative, for his presence at the opening ceremony.
On behalf of the Kuwait Shooting Federation, the Supreme Organizing Committee, and himself, Al-Otaibi welcomed all guests from national federations, delegations, and athletes participating in the championship. He wished them a pleasant stay in Kuwait and success in the competition, with hopes for excellent results in this prestigious event, which enjoys widespread recognition and support.
