KUWAIT CITY, Dec 1: Dutch jockey and trainer Amber den Heyer praised Kuwait's significant progress in dressage, highlighting the growing number of talented and dedicated riders in the country. She noted that more individuals are participating in equestrian competitions, investing in quality horses, and bringing in experienced trainers to elevate the sport.

“There is a noticeable shift in mindset towards equestrian sports,” den Heyer said. “We now see excellent show jumping riders who have achieved remarkable improvements in their horses through proper training and focused efforts.”

Expressing her gratitude, den Heyer added, “I deeply appreciate the efforts of the dedicated equestrian committee within the Kuwait Equestrian Federation, which is working tirelessly to advance this sport. I look forward to seeing more competitions and opportunities in the future.”

According to den Heyer, accomplishments take many forms for me, each bringing its sense of fulfillment. Training a young horse to reach the highest levels is just as rewarding as building harmony with a more challenging horse. However, some moments stand out, like being honored as Talent of the Year in 2012, achieving multiple national titles, and winning the European KFPS Championship in 2019, which marked an unforgettable conclusion to her competitive journey.

Den Heyer started riding at the age of 7, and by 12, she was competing seriously in advanced classes, setting the foundation for her passion and dedication to equestrian sports.
