KUWAIT CITY, Oct 11: The Court of Appeals has overturned the verdict of the lower court and refrained from punishing two young men who were found guilty of assaulting a shepherd and stealing two heads of cattle.

According to Al-Rai Daily, the suspects were earlier found guilty by the Court of First Instance and sentenced to five years imprisonment. The defendants appealed the verdict and the defense lawyers denied the accusation that the shepherd was assaulted by his clients but admitted to one of them engaging the man in a conversation while the other loaded the animals into the vehicle. The two men also agreed to pay 2,000 dinars cost of the stolen sheep, following which the Appeal Court refrained from issuing a verdict and set them free.
