KUWAIT CITY, Oct 28: The Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh investigation officers, have apprehended an Arab man for intentionally setting fire to the apartment of his fellow Arab compatriot. This act was a result of the victim's failure to repay a debt, reports Al-Anba daily.
A security source informed the daily that an Arab man in his fifties filed a complaint with the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh police station after a fire broke out in the apartment he shared with his family. Firefighters confirmed that it was indeed an arson case.
Upon inspecting the scene, it became evident that an unidentified individual had doused the outer door of the apartment with a highly flammable substance and ignited the fire.
Following thorough investigations and the review of surveillance camera footage, the perpetrator's identity was ascertained, and it was revealed that he shared the same nationality as the victim.
When confronted during the investigations, the individual admitted to deliberately setting fire to his compatriot's apartment as a means of discipline due to the debt non-payment. However, he claimed that he did not intend to harm the victim's family.
The case has been referred to the Public Prosecution for further action.
