KUWAIT CITY, Nov 9: The Arab Shooting Federation recently held its elections at the General Assembly meeting, hosted at the Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic Shooting Complex, with heads and representatives of national shooting federations in attendance.
During the elections, confidence was renewed in Eng. Duaij Khalaf Al-Otaibi as President and Obaid Manahi Al-Asimi as Secretary-General, acknowledging their pivotal role in advancing Arab shooting.
Expressing his gratitude, Eng. Al-Otaibi extended heartfelt thanks to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled, and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmed Al-Abdullah for their ongoing, steadfast support of the Arab Shooting Federation.
Meanwhile, the annual Crown Prince Shooting Championship continues today, with the trap events for men and women starting at 8:30 am at the complex. Bullet shooting equipment inspections are scheduled for 9:00 am, followed by official training for the 10-meter air pistol event at 9:30 am.
The technical meeting for the Arab Shooting Championship took place yesterday, chaired by Eng. Duaij Al-Otaibi, President of the Kuwaiti and Arab Federations, alongside technical delegate and President of the Egyptian and African Federations, Major General Hazem Hosni.
Maj. Gen. Hosni praised the championship’s unique character and commended Kuwait’s support in hosting Arab championships, thanking Sheikh Salman Al-Hamoud Al-Sabah for his efforts in promoting Arab, Asian, and global shooting sports.
Abdullah Abdulaziz Al-Shammari, head of the technical committee at the Kuwait Shooting Club, confirmed that the ranges are fully equipped to host the Crown Prince Championship, featuring modern electronic systems for targets and scoring.
