LOS ANGELES, Oct 3, (Agencies): Arnold Schwarzenegger is renowned for his strict parenting style, as he recently disclosed during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! The 76-year-old actor shared some amusing anecdotes about keeping his son Patrick, now 30, in line when he was just a boy.

Schwarzenegger, who was on the show to promote his new book, "Be Useful: Seven Tools for Life," admitted, "For the way I grew up, I was lenient. But I think for American standards, I was probably strict."

One of the stories he recounted involved Patrick's reluctance to make his bed. Instead of letting his nanny handle the task, Schwarzenegger insisted that his children take responsibility for household chores, including making their own beds, doing their laundry, and cleaning their bathrooms.

The actor chuckled as he shared a memorable incident, saying, "So, I came in one time and the bed was made so immaculately, that I looked at it and I said, 'Patrick, did you do that?' And he said, 'No, I didn't.'" Schwarzenegger then described his drastic response: "So I grabbed the mattress, opened up the doors, and threw it off the balcony down into the swimming pool!"

He continued, "It gives an example. So he had to, kind of, drag it up, the mattress and the pillows — I threw everything out there."

Schwarzenegger has a total of five children: Katherine, 33, Christina, 32, Patrick, and Christopher, 26, whom he shares with his ex-wife Maria Shriver, as well as Joseph, 26, from a different relationship. He is also a proud grandparent to Katherine's children, Lyla Maria, 3, and Eloise Christina, 16 months.
