KUWAIT CITY, April 14: The Ministry of Social Affairs confirmed that the individual recently arrested by security authorities, as reported on social media, is the General Manager of a cooperative society. He was appointed through a four-member committee after submitting his application via the “Fakhrna” platform.

In a press statement issued on Sunday, the ministry stated that the case has been referred to the Public Prosecution. It urged the public to verify the accuracy of circulated information and to rely on official sources to avoid potential legal consequences.

The ministry further clarified that the four-member committee responsible for appointing general managers in cooperative societies includes representatives from the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Public Authority for Manpower, the Union of Consumer Cooperative Societies, and the cooperative society concerned.

Emphasizing that this is an isolated incident, the ministry stressed that it does not reflect the overall integrity of Kuwait’s pioneering cooperative movement. It also noted that a specialized working team has been formed to follow up on the case and provide detailed information as the matter develops.
