KUWAIT CITY, Nov 18, (Agencies): The security services within the Ministry of Interior are intensifying efforts to apprehend two unidentified individuals responsible for setting fire to the vicinity of the residence of Counselor Sultan Buresli, the head of one of the chambers of the Court of Cassation. This incident occurred after midnight last Thursday, resulting in the ignition of his car.
According to an informed source, the two unknown perpetrators approached Counselor Buresli's house on Banshee Street. They proceeded to pour gasoline on his vehicle and the house fence, initiating fires. Subsequently, they fled the scene after being spotted by a passerby.
Surveillance cameras reportedly captured footage of the two masked individuals entering Counselor Buresli's property. Preliminary investigations suggest that some individuals meticulously planned the crime, conducting surveillance for several days. They strategically chose a late-night time when the area would likely be devoid of witnesses. Their initial intention was to ignite a more extensive fire, but the timely intervention of a passerby thwarted their plans.
Upon receiving notification of the incident, the Ministry of Interior swiftly initiated investigations, deploying forensic personnel to the scene. A mobile security patrol was assigned to safeguard Buresli's residence. Ongoing searches and investigations are in progress to locate and apprehend the suspects.
The source emphasized the significance of this crime occurring just two days before Counselor Buresli is set to rule in the Army Fund case on the upcoming Sunday. The incident has garnered significant attention, prompting high-level instructions to apprehend the perpetrators and ascertain the motives behind the act.
It was underscored that there is a strong commitment to protecting judges, and no tolerance will be shown for individuals who compromise the country's security or launch attacks, regardless of their positions in public offices or elsewhere. Criminals will face no leniency.
