Kuwaiti players in action.

MANAMA, July 27: Today marks the beginning of the Asian Junior Volleyball Championship in the Kingdom of Bahrain, running through August 4. Kuwait kicks off its campaign with a match against India at 4:30 pm in Group 4 of the preliminary round. Also scheduled for today are matches between the Philippines and China, Lebanon and Iran, and South Korea and Pakistan.

In other news, the Kuwait youth volleyball team secured its first victory in the 22nd Asian Youth Championship, currently taking place in Surabaya, Indonesia. Kuwait beat Hong Kong  3-1 in its opening match of Group 7 in the consolation round, which determines positions from 9-16.

In another Group 7 match, Australia defeated Bangladesh, 25-21, 31-29, and 25-17. As a result, Australia leads the group with a point difference over Kuwait, with both teams earning 3 points. Hong Kong and Bangladesh remain without points, placing them in third and fourth positions, respectively. Kuwait will face Australia at 7:00 am today in the second and final round of Group 7.
