KUWAIT CITY, Mar 5: As municipal bulldozers commenced the removal of temporary wedding halls across three governorates following the expiration of the legal deadline for warnings issued to their owners, Muhammad Al-Sindan, Director of the Public Relations Department and official spokesperson for the municipality, announced that a total of 57 event halls are slated for demolition.
Al-Sindan stated that the halls targeted for removal are spread across three governorates: 26 in Ahmadi Governorate (including 3 in Al-Raqqa, 4 in Al-Dhahr, and 19 south of Al-Sabahya), 16 in Farwaniya Governorate, and 15 in Jahra Governorate. He noted that several hall owners had responded to the warnings and cooperated by dismantling their structures voluntarily. Al-Sindan emphasized that the removal operation officially began on Sunday, in compliance with the ministerial decision mandating their demolition. This initiative is part of the preparations for implementing new regulations governing temporary event tents.
