KUWAIT CITY, Aug 21: The General Department of Drug Control has carried out intensive and decisive operations to apprehend drug and psychotropic substance dealers, resulting in significant confiscations.

These operations, part of the Ministry of Interior's ongoing efforts to protect the country from drug smuggling and distribution, were spearheaded by the General Department of Drug Control. The campaigns successfully thwarted numerous attempts to flood the country with narcotics and psychotropic substances.

As a result, authorities seized approximately 15 kilograms of various drugs, around 60,000 psychotropic pills, 70,000 capsules ready for filling, 350 bottles of alcohol, three unlicensed firearms with ammunition, and substantial sums of money. These seizures were connected to 25 defendants involved in 16 different cases.

The suspects and the confiscated items have been referred to the competent authorities for legal action. The Ministry of Interior reiterates its commitment to monitoring and disrupting narcotics trafficking operations to safeguard society. The Ministry also urges the public to cooperate with security forces and report any suspicious activities or negative phenomena by calling the emergency number (112) or the General Department for Combating Narcotics hotline (1884141).
