KUWAIT CITY, June 28: Stapling electronic passports can damage them and obstruct passage through electronic gates in airports around the world, reports Al-Anba daily. Public Relations and Security Media Department of Ministry of Interior explained that stapling the new e-passports with the old ones can cause damages of the new passports and disrupts smooth passage for the holders through e-gates in airports. It stops the functions of the electronic chip in the passport.The department, based on its keenness for the comfort of citizens when carrying out travel procedures and ensuring they are not blocked from passing through the e-gates, urges all citizens to abide by the instructions and avoid stapling their passports in order to maintain their validity in all airports.
