MANAMA, Oct 9 : Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa praised on Wednesday His Highness the Amir of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah’s role in developing Bahraini-Kuwaiti relations, and his efforts in supporting joint Gulf and Arab action. This came during King Hamad’s reception of the Kuwaiti First Deputy Prime Minister, Defense Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, who is visiting Bahrain. The King welcomed Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef at Al-Sakhir Palace. He entrusted him to convey his well wishes of good health to his brother His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, wishing Kuwait’s people further progress and prosperity. He expressed his pride in the depth of the historical relations between the two countries and stressed the importance of coordination between them in what serves their mutual interests, especially during the current circumstances and challenges facing the region. For his part, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef conveyed to King Hamad the greetings of His Highness the Amir and his good wishes for Bahrain and its people for further progress and prosperity. This came during the reception of Kuwait’s First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al- Sabah by the Bahraini Crown Prince at Gudaibiya palace in Bahrain. The Bahraini Crown Prince stressed the importance of mutual visits between official from Kuwait and Bahrain, and their role in strengthening bilateral cooperation and ties. During the meeting, Prince Salman Al-Khalifa and Sheikh Fahad Al- Yousef reviewed the Bahraini-Kuwaiti cooperation and partnership, emphasizing the continuous progress they were witnessing and the consolidation of the historical ties between Kuwait and Bahrain. The meeting discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields in a way that served the interests of both countries and ways to enhance the process of joint Gulf action, as well as the overall developments on the regional and international arenas. Meanwhile, Sheikh Fahad Al- Yousef discussed on Wednesday with Bahraini Defense Force Commanderin- Chief and Field Marshal Sheikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa ways of enhancing military cooperation. This came about during a meeting between the First Deputy PM and the Commander-in-Chief on the occasion of his official visit to Bahrain. The two sides discussed ways of enhancing military cooperation to increase relations and advance mutual Gulf progress. Additionally, they agreed on the importance of cooperation between Kuwait and Bahrain’s militaries, in areas of exchanging experience and securing peace in the two countries.

The meeting touched on overall regional and international developments, as well as the challenges both countries face and the views on them. Earlier, Kuwait’s First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah and Bahraini Interior Minister Sheikh Rashed bin Abdullah Al-Khalifia discussed ways to bolster cooperation between the two sides. On his part, Sheikh Fahad Al- Yousef commended during the meeting the longstanding relations between Kuwait and Bahrain especially within the Interior sphere. He stressed the importance of mutual visits to boost cooperation and face any security challenges and crimes in the region. The Kuwaiti minister arrived in Bahrain on an official visit and Bahrain’s Interior Minister and other senior officials received him. The First Deputy PM arrived in Bahrain earlier today on an official visit, where he was received by Bahrain’s Commander-in-Chief at Bahrain’s International Airport.
