KUWAIT CITY, March 8: The Ministry of Interior team from the capital, led by Chief Hamed Al-Dhafiri, conducted a joint operation with the Ministry's inspectors, the Electricity Emergency Department, and the Residence and Manpower Affairs Investigators, to raid a warehouse located in a house in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh.

The team seized subsidized food items, including rice, sugar, and milk, which were being stored and sold in bags belonging to food companies. During the operation, it was revealed that 11 Bangladeshis were operating the store in Al Hasawi area, and they were found to be selling the subsidized items illegally, reports Al Rai. Article 4 of Resolution 2016 of 2014, Law 79/10, forbids the sale, trade, or export abroad of goods that are subsidized by the state.

If a Kuwaiti citizen with a ration card is caught selling or giving away their ration, their card will be suspended and they will be summoned by the Ministry of Commerce to face the highest possible penalties. The violators were arrested and referred to the Public Prosecution Office to face legal action.
