Bedoun arrested for committing robberies at dawn wearing mask

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 25: The Criminal Security Sector’s Hawally Investigation Department apprehended the masked thief who was responsible for a series of robberies. The accused, a 1993-born bedoun in the country identified as “A. J. Y.”, was arrested after committing 13 thefts of breaking, with his latest crime occurring last Thursday. The thief’s criminal activities primarily involved robbing shops at dawn. He was known to use an American-made silver vehicle to target businesses, including a sweets shop and a restaurant, as reported earlier.

According to security sources, several reports were received that an unidentified individual would check whether shops and restaurants were empty before breaking locks to steal. In response to the increasing number of such cases, a special search and investigation team was formed by the Hawally detectives. Through coordinated efforts and the use of surveillance cameras around the crime scenes, investigators tracked the suspect’s movements. It was discovered that the thief consistently wore a mask to conceal his identity and used a particular tool for breaking locks. The team also learned that the perpetrator had committed multiple robberies on the same day, with his most recent crime taking place on Thursday in Hawally, where he targeted a store, resulting in charges of “theft by breaking” and “theft by unusual means”.

Investigations eventually led to the identification of the accused, an illegal resident (bedoun) in the country. Following this breakthrough, a warrant was issued for his arrest, along with a search for the vehicle he had been using. He was subsequently brought to the Hawally Investigations Office, where he was confronted with evidence of his crimes. The accused confessed to all the thefts and further admitted to committing similar offenses using the same method in different parts of the country, specifically, Hawally, Capital, and Jahra governorates.
