ISTANBUL, Nov 2: Hamza Behbehani clinched the title at the Unified International Turkey Championship, held under the auspices of the International Boxing Federation (IBO) and the World Boxing Council (WBC). He achieved this victory by defeating Turkish boxer Orhan Nameli in the second round, prompting the referee to halt the bout. This thrilling contest took place at the Hilton Hotel Circuit in Istanbul, Turkey.

Behbehani, renowned as both a martial arts champion and professional boxer, made a notable gesture by wearing the Palestinian keffiyeh before entering the ring, as a symbol of solidarity with the people of Gaza. He emphasized that this humanitarian gesture was a show of support for the Palestinian people in Gaza, recognizing the significant sacrifices they endure daily in their defense of their homeland and resources. Hamza Behbehani stated, "This is the least we can do for our fellow people and brothers who are under siege in Gaza. We hope for a swift resolution to this crisis and the restoration of their rightful rights."

In addition to his sporting achievements, Behbehani is a member of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Olympic Committee. He expressed his gratitude to Sheikh Mubarak Al-Faisal Al-Nawaf for his invaluable support to the people of Kuwait in various sports.
