Bharat Mela brings India’s vibrant culture to life in Kuwait

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 16: Indian Ambassador to Kuwait Dr. Adarsh Swaika stated that the India Day celebrations aim to strengthen bonds and friendships within the diverse Indian community while fostering a vital connection between India and Kuwait. The Indian community, the largest expatriate community in Kuwait, is known for its diplomacy, diligence and trustworthiness. The community actively participates in various cultural activities, with nearly 700 members showcasing non-stop cultural performances during the Bharat Mela festival. Swaika pointed out the spread of Indian culture in Kuwait; including films, dance, music and cuisine, attributing it to centuries of exchange between the two countries. He is hoping for further strengthen cultural ties through diverse events that highlight the strong bond between the two nations. The mega event entitled, “Celebration of Indian Tastes, Melodies and Traditions,” featured a continuous display of diverse art forms by over 700 artists; captivating an audience of more than 7,000 people. The event venue included 25 stalls offering authentic Indian cuisine and a variety of Indian products like handicrafts, Ayurveda and textiles.
