KUWAIT CITY, May 19: The Supreme Council for Privatization is preparing a file to activate the privatization program to re-launch the projects, including logistics areas, supporting areas for land ports, transport, transit and major free zones in preparation to submit the same to the Economic Committee of the Council of Ministers to complete the procedures and activate the privatization projects, reports Annahar daily.

The daily has learned from its sources that a new process is expected to be launched to re-evaluate the assets related to state-owned enterprises in the services sector in order to establish a fair value of their assets and existing projects to be allocated to the privatization program.

All state-controlled services were to be privatized as part of the privatization program of the country’s economic sectors. The privatization program was initiated by government services and followed by the education and health sectors.

The sources said that activating the role of the private sector within the program of privatization of government sectors will create employment opportunities for citizens and will refl ect positively on the national economy in general
