KUWAIT CITY, Nov 7: The Ministry of Interior has urged all expats who have not yet completed the biometric process to do so before the deadline of December 31. It explained that residents can book an appointment for biometrics registration either through the Sahel app or the Meta platform. Failure to complete the biometric process will result in the suspension of government and banking transactions.
According to the latest statistics, approximately 530,000 expats have not yet completed their biometric fingerprinting. The number of residents who have already completed the procedure is around 2.1 million. In total, over 3.03 million people have completed the procedure since its launch last year. The Ministry of Interior stated that it has exerted tremendous efforts to facilitate the biometric process for both citizens and residents.
Meanwhile, a security source affirmed that all government transactions for expatriates who have not completed their biometrics registration will be suspended after the deadline at the end of December, including residency renewals. He urged all residents to book appointments and complete their biometrics at the security directorates in all six governorates, and in the designated fingerprint centers for companies in Umm Al-Hayman and Jahra, reiterating that failure to do so may result in the suspension of their government transactions.
