MUMBAI, India, Sept 11:  Bollywood actor Malaika Arora's father, Anil Arora, was reported to have died by suicide this morning, according to police. He reportedly jumped from his apartment building in Mumbai’s Bandra around 9 a.m. today.

Following the incident, Arora’s ex-husband, Arbaaz Khan, and senior police officers arrived at her residence. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination, and an investigation is currently underway.

Malaika Arora, originally from Thane in Maharashtra, experienced her parents’ divorce when she was just 11 years old. She subsequently moved to Chembur with her mother, Joyce Polycarp, and her sister, Amrita Arora. Her mother is a Malayali Christian, while her father, Anil Arora, was a Punjabi who worked with the Indian Merchant Navy.

In a recent interview with a fashion magazine, Malaika Arora reflected on her childhood, describing it as "wonderful" but "not easy" and "tumultuous" due to her parents' separation. She noted that the experience provided her with a new perspective on her mother.
