KUWAIT CITY, Oct 4: Orthopedic Specialist Dr Ali Jaragh says bone surgery has become the most wanted specialization lately due to the growing number of accidents and bone-related diseases such as Osteoporosis and Osteoarthritis, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

On the sidelines of the first orthopedic conference in Kuwait titled ‘Kuwait International Orthopedic Updates Meeting 2016’, Dr Jaragh, who serves as the head of the conference, said the field of orthopedic surgeries has reached advanced levels including smallslit and endoscopic surgeries.

The conference is being held from Oct 3-5 at Jumeirah Beach Hotel under the patronage of Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) and the Faculty of Medicine at Kuwait University with the cooperation of Al-Razi Hospital.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Union of Kuwait Orthopedic Surgeons and Head of the Emergency Department at Al- Razi Hospital Dr Abdulrazzak Al-Obaid said the hospital receives 300,000 patients every year and the department carries out about 16,000 operations annually, adding that the hospital has ten operating theatres.
