The British Ambassador to the State of Kuwait takes part in the Car Rally.

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 9: The British Embassy in Kuwait, as part of ongoing celebrations to highlight the 125th anniversary of official diplomatic relations between the United Kingdom and the State of Kuwait, organized an exciting and dynamic event – the Car Rally -- along the Gulf, Road bringing together car enthusiasts and adventure seekers for a thrilling ride along this scenic coastline of Kuwait.

This rally was designed to celebrate both British and Kuwaiti culture, a day filled with fun, competition, and camaraderie as participants took in the beautiful views of the Arabian Gulf while navigating through a series of engaging challenges.

The event, as expected, fostered stronger ties between the British and Kuwaiti communities, showcasing the spirit of cooperation and friendly competition during which the event showcased a number of the UK’s premier automotive brands.

The rally, which spanned from Marina Crescent to the iconic Kuwait Towers, attracted a diverse group of motoring enthusiasts, all eager to admire a stunning array of British-made vehicles.

From the classic Aston Martin DB5, famously driven by James Bond in the 1964 film Goldfinger, to the Rolls Royce of His Highness the late Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the latest high-performance supercars, the event showcased the best of British automotive craftsmanship.

Beyond celebrating the rich heritage and innovation of the UK’s car manufacturing industry, the rally also highlighted the significant role that British automobiles play in the trade relations between the UK and Kuwait. By the end of Q1 2024, the UK had exported £286 million worth of cars to Kuwait, reinforcing the strong economic ties between the two nations.

Her Excellency Belinda Lewis, the British Ambassador to the State of Kuwait, who took part in the event driving a magnetic grey Bentley Continental GT V8, said, “Today’s rally was a wonderful, family-friendly opportunity to showcase British automotive excellence.

“The cars ranked among the top five British exports to Kuwait last year, with Kuwaiti buyers appreciating the style, luxury, and quality that our brands offer.

“It was fantastic to see such a diverse collection of beautiful British cars, from sleek Bentleys, McLarens, and Aston Martins to rugged Land Rovers, as well as vintage Rolls Royces and cutting-edge electric Jaguars.”
