Burgan Bank concludes its participation in the Third Edition of Watheefti National Career Fair

KUWAIT CITY, October 22: Burgan Bank recently concluded its participation in the third edition of Watheefti, Kuwait’s largest employment fair, which was inaugurated in the presence of HE Dr. Nader Abdullah Mohammed Al-Jallal, Minister of Higher Education and Acting Minister of Education, in addition to Burgan senior management. The event, held at The Arena Kuwait – 360 Mall, attracted visitors with the participation of over 100 of Kuwait’s top companies across various industries. Burgan’s active involvement in Watheefti comes as part of its commitment to recruiting and developing Kuwait’s top national calibers and preparing a generation of leaders capable of advancing the domestic banking sector and economy. It also echoes Burgan’s dedication to adopting the highest Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) banking practices and ensuring that its business success reflects on the growth and development of its community.

“It was a great delight to participate in Watheefti for the third edition, especially following the event’s notable success in its first two editions,” said Mr. Naqeeb Amin, General Manager – Human Resources and Development at Burgan Bank. “Through our previous participation in the employment fair, we were able to meet some of the most ambitious youth and professional talents who are now an integral part of our invaluable human capital. However, it’s important to underscore the great responsibility that comes with hiring aspiring and motivated talents; and that is the responsibility to craft a personalized learning and development path that accompanies them throughout their employment at Burgan Bank.”

Mr. Naqeeb added that Burgan Bank’s commitment to advancing talents isn’t confined to its staff, highlighting the Bank’s efforts in seizing all opportunities to share vital professional and industry-specific knowledge with national talents seeking a career in the banking sector. To this end, Ms. Noura Sami Bin Hajji, Senior Officer – Learning and Development, and Mr. Raed Saleh AlShatti, Senior Officer – Talent Empowerment at Burgan Bank, delivered two workshops at the career advancement event at Grand Hyatt, which took place on the sidelines of the Watheefti employment fair. The workshops, which focused on banking awareness and job interview skills, garnered a notable turnout of participants who were highly engaged with the valuable presentations and the Q&A sessions that followed.

“We were delighted to witness the significant visitor turnout to our booth during the third edition of Watheefti and to have been among some of Kuwait’s most prestigious employers and contributors to the country’s economic success,” said Mr. Abdulwahab Abdulraheem, Executive Manager – Talent Acquisition at Burgan Bank. “Burgan Bank’s success is the sum of our brilliant talents’ efforts and innovations. To uphold our unyielding standards and commitment to excellence, it is vital that we continue to attract the most aspiring talents who are eager to learn and challenge their own limits – and Watheefti was the perfect setting to meet such calibers.”

In line with its committed support for the national financial literacy and banking awareness campaign, “Let’s Be Aware” (Diraya) – running for its fourth year under the supervision of the Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) and the Kuwait Banking Association (KBA) with the support of Kuwaiti banks – Burgan Bank representatives shared vital information with the booth visitors about safe banking practices as well as the Bank’s most recent products and services.

It is worth noting that Burgan Bank is a recipient of the Brandon Hall Group Human Capital Management (HCM) Gold Award of Excellence in the “Learning and Development” area under the “Best Use of Social/Collaborative Learning” category as well as the GCC Excellence Award in the Recruitment and Development of Nationals from the Council of Ministers of Labor and Council of Ministers of Social Affairs in the GCC States Executive Bureau.
