Kuwait City, 3 Oct: In recognition of its learning and development efforts, Burgan Bank announced receiving the prestigious Brandon Hall Human Capital Management (HCM) Excellence Silver Award for its outstanding application in the “Learning and Development – Learning in the Flow of Work” category. The 2023 Brandon Hall Group HCM Excellence Awards™ recognizes the best corporate human resources (HR) efforts and initiatives across several key areas of practice, including learning and development, talent management, leadership development, talent acquisition, sales performance, diversity, equity and inclusion, and the future of work. This award, which Burgan received for its pioneering adoption of the novel “Learning in the Flow of Work” approach to Learning and Development, serves as a testament to the Bank's relentless pursuit of excellence and its dedication to fostering a culture of continuous innovation in learning.
Commenting on Burgan’s latest recognition, Mr. Fadhel Abdullah, Acting CEO - Burgan Kuwait, said: “We are thrilled and honored to receive the Silver Award for Learning and Development, which underscores our commitment to nurturing a culture of continuous growth and dynamic development, as well as our dedication to an expansive learning model that empowers our employees to thrive in a rapidly changing industry. Our Learning and Talent Development Department collaborated with IQUAD Learning Solutions Company which showcases what can be achieved when creative, progressive minds come together.”
Abdullah further noted that the award attests to Burgan Bank's dedication to its employees' growth as well as its pursuit of progress and excellence. In order to create a seamless learning and development experience for all Burgan staff, the Bank has adopted the “Learning in the Flow of Work” progressive methods, which successfully bridge the gap between learning and work. Under this approach, employees can integrate professional development seamlessly into their daily tasks, enabling them to acquire new skills and knowledge organically and proficiently.
Burgan Bank took a holistic and expansive approach to building its award-winning learning and development programs that combine human capital development and digital transformation with the Bank’s overarching business goals and strategy. This learning model, which builds on the concept of “bite-size” learning, was selected for its efficiency in balancing experiential learning, social learning, and formal training, allowing Burgan Bank to elevate its human capital investment to new heights.
To ensure fairness and integrity of the award, a panel of veteran, independent senior industry experts, Brandon Hall Group analysts, and executives evaluates all Excellence Award entries on a set of criteria, which includes the learning and development program’s alignment to the entity’s business needs and environment, in addition to the program design, functionality, and delivery. Other factors that entries are judged on include adoption, integration, user experience, innovation, and creativity, as well as overall effectiveness, impact, and measurable benefits.
Upholding its commitment to human capital development, Burgan Bank continues to innovate new channels and platforms that streamline growth and development for all employees across the Bank’s functions. Among Burgan’s numerous efforts, employees have managed to advance greatly through the Bank’s certified learning programs, Burgan Talks, webinars, clubs, and even newsletter, all of which complement the institution’s strategy of informal learning and underline the importance of achieving unity in adopting and acting on Burgan’s values and ESG principles.
