Kuwait City, 4 Oct: Burgan Bank announced its platinum sponsorship of the 10th eGovernment Forum (EGOV10), in partnership with the organizers, Razen Events and Kuwaiti Federation of Engineering Offices and Consultant Houses. His Excellency Mr. Fahad Ali Zaied Al-Shuala, Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Minister of State for Communications Affairs, is patronizing the event.

EGOV10 will be held at the Al-Baraka Ballroom at the Crowne Plaza Hotel from 22 to 24 October 2023. The forum convenes under the motto “The Future of Cloud in Kuwait,” which aims to highlight one of the most current and important technological phenomena that incorporate cloud-based data centers.

Commenting on the EGOV10 sponsorship, Mr. Mohammed Najeeb Al-Zanki, General Manager - Corporate Banking at Burgan Bank, said: “Our sponsorship stems from our growing interest in Cloud computing because it reflects our policy of supporting innovation. The Cloud provides tremendous possibilities to respond to customers’ changing and rapid requirements, and sometimes to their changing moods and aspirations for new services. Technology and information systems have always been the main driver for the development of financial and investment services provided by banks. To this end, cloud computing, the spread of mobile devices, and the expansion of ‘FinTech’ all constituted an ideal opportunity for financial institutions and banks to transform into new working methods capable of responding to market dynamics and customer desires. In addition, the recent adoption of open banking is clear evidence of the need to continuously follow up on technological development to uncover its manifestations and ramifications.”

Mr. Al-Zanki added: “Through our participation in EGOV10, we aim to acquaint our teams with the services provided by global and local cloud computing companies, as well as discuss aspects related to the challenges facing institutions on the journey of transformation towards cloud computing and digital transformation. We will invite many of our customers and partners to attend and participate in the forum because we consider our success as their own and are glad to share mutual opportunities for further growth and development.”

For his part, Mr. Taher Abdul Aal, Managing Partner - Razen Events, welcomed Burgan’s sponsorship of EGOV10, thanking the Bank’s management for their support and constant sponsorship of Razen’s events. He said: “The eGovernment Forum has become Kuwait’s most prominent annual technological event. Our choice of the motto ‘Cloud’ this year reflects our keenness to keep pace with all the technologies that push Kuwait to achieve its digital transformation strategies and sustainable growth plans.”

Burgan Bank continues to support governmental events and initiatives in line with the country's comprehensive development plan. The Bank also persists in implementing its integrated plan for digitization and technological development. Moreover, Burgan positively recognizes and welcomes the prominent role that technology has occupied in the various state projects mentioned in the latest edition of the Kuwaiti government program. From this standpoint, the Bank looks forward to playing a pivotal role in advancing the development of the Kuwaiti banking sector and economy in support of this ambitious program.
