Burgan player makes a goal attempt against Al-Salmiya.

KUWAIT CITY, April 6: The Burgan handball team successfully halted Al Salmiya's advancement, putting the brakes on their momentum after a thrilling tie two days ago, finishing 32-32 in the eighth round of the General Handball League at the Sheikh Saad Al Abdullah Sports Complex in Sabah Al Salem. As a result, Al-Salmiya surrenders their first point since the league's inception, holding onto their lead with 15 points, while Burgan boosts their tally to eight points, securing sixth place.

In another fixture on the same day, Sulaibikhat triumphed over Yarmouk with a commanding 36-24 victory. This win elevates Sulaibikhat to seventh place with seven points, leaving Yarmouk in eleventh place with five points.

Today, two matches are scheduled for the ninth round of the "Merge" handball league. At 8:30 pm, Al-Tadamon, at the bottom of the standings without a point, faces Khaitan, currently twelfth with two points. This will be followed by a match at ten p.m. between Al-Sulaibikhat (seven points) and Al-Sahel (thirteenth), who are yet to score.

The first encounter is anticipated to favor Khaitan over Al-Tadamon due to their experience and skill gap. Similarly, the second match is expected to be easier for Sulaibikhat and challenging for Al-Sahel. Consequently, both Khaitan and Sulaibikhat aim to secure points with minimal effort and climb the league standings.
