KUWAIT CITY, Oct 10, (KUNA): Kuwait is determined to take resolute action against all threats to the nation’s security and stability, the Cabinet warned on Monday. These remarks were made during the Cabinet’s weekly meeting at Seif Palace, presided over by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.

The Cabinet underscored the need of cooperation with security forces and support of all efforts to exterminate terrorism. At the onset of the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah gave the Cabinet an explanation of the apprehension of a so-called Islamic State (IS) sympathizer, subsequently foiling an attempted terror plot.

Moreover, Sheikh Mohamad Al-Khaled noted that investigations are ongoing to uncover the details of the failed attack, and if the suspect has any accomplices. Meanwhile, the Cabinet looked over a report by a committee dealing with economic affairs over recent accomplishments and forthcoming projects.

The report also contained a blueprint for a national agenda to ameliorate the business environment in the country, part of efforts to prop up the business sector. Furthermore, the report featured numerous suggestions germane to the “One stop shop” administration that deals with work related to commercial permits, direct investment and the National Fund for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). This administration is tasked with completing all investment transactions and will begin accepting business permits in November.

The report also contained updates on environmental projects completed in the April-June 2016 period, providing intricacies of expenses and timeframes, in addition to ways to expedite the projects. The Cabinet reminisced on the life and career of late Kuwaiti musician Ibrahim Al-Sola, a man who devoted his life to national arts. The Cabinet conveyed its deepest condolences to his family in this most difficult time. The meeting also featured discussions of the latest Arab and international political developments.
