KUWAIT CITY, Jan 17: The Council of Ministers has resolved the disagreement between the Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) and the State Audit Bureau (SAB) regarding tenders for the supply, extension and maintenance of ground cables in the outskirts of the Al-Mutla’a Residential City project. The Cabinet resolved it in favor of PAHW due to the soundness of its opinion regarding the awarding of tenders, reports Al-Rai daily.

The Cabinet referred the matter to the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Oil, and Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Muhammad Al-Fares, to take steps that he deems necessary and in the public interest in terms of the measures taken by the Ministry of Electricity and Water for the qualification of one of the companies related to the aforementioned tenders.

According to informed sources, the Government Performance Follow-up Agency submitted a report to the Council of Ministers, which included a memorandum for the committee to study and resolve the difference of opinion between government agencies and SAB after studying the dispute between PAHW and SAB. The committee concluded with highlighting the integrity of the opinion of PAHW, and recommended conducting investigations in the Ministry of Electricity and Water about the validity of the qualification of a company, to include all those responsible for this in their different job categories, and to refer those who are proven to have defaulted, breached their job duties and neglected their job performance to the Kuwait Anti-Corruption Authority.
