‘No plan to destroy uncollected cards’
KUWAIT CITY, Nov 1: The Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) denied reports about a study on destroying the civil identification cards of 200,000 citizens and expatriates who have yet to take these cards from the authority although more than three months have passed since their completion, reports Al- Rai daily. Director for Public Relations and Media at PACI Ahmad Al- Sabr told the daily that the civil ID dispensing machines at the headquarters of the authority and its branches in Jahra and Ahmadi are full of completed civil IDs.
He affirmed the authority’s employees exerted tremendous efforts to complete the processing of these IDs despite the exceptional working conditions brought about by the corona crisis, lack of manpower, and implementation of health measures to protect employees and visitors whose number exceeds one thousand daily.
Al-Sabr said PACI is calling on the concerned citizens and expatriates to get their civil IDs from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm for the authority to fill the civil ID dispensing machines again. He added no one should visit the authority without ensuring their IDs are ready by calling 1889988 or logging on the official website of PACI.
