Capital Governor praises Sadu Association's efforts to preserve heritage

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 30: The Governor of the Capital, Sheikh Abdullah Salem Al-Ali, met with Sheikha Bibi Duaij Al-Sabah, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Sadu Crafts Association, at the General Diwan of the Governorate yesterday. The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation between the Capital Governorate and the Association to support heritage projects, particularly the art of Sadu.

Discussions centered on the revival of the traditional textile craft through the organization of training courses aimed at qualifying individuals to practice Sadu. This initiative seeks to preserve Kuwait's textile heritage, instill national identity values, and promote Kuwaiti heritage among future generations.

Governor Sheikh Abdullah Salem Al-Ali commended the Association’s efforts in preserving and developing the textile heritage and its role in encouraging handicrafts across Kuwait.

It is also noteworthy that the Sadu Crafts Association is recognized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) for its contributions to cultural heritage.
