CAPT okays tender for major road upgrades at Jaber Al-Ahmad City

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 16: According to informed sources, Central Agency for Public Tenders (CAPT) recently approved the Ministry of Public Works’ request to launch a tender for the project to develop the entrances and exits of Jaber Al-Ahmad City, with a timeline of 540 days. CAPT stipulated that the procedures be conducted through a public tender, following article 17 of Public Tenders Law No. 49/2016. This project is one of the important road projects aimed at constructing and upgrading the entrances and exits to the city at sites 1 and 2. It is designed to safeguard the oil sector’s services and the services of other ministries in the area, in addition to providing essential infrastructure, such as rainwater drainage, lighting, traffic control systems, traffic signs, protective barriers, and collision mitigation measures.

The works will be held in two primary sites:
the southern entrances and exits of the city linking to Jahra Road
the eastern entrances and exits, linking to Doha Road. The ministry has included this project in its development plan for the current fiscal year. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Public Works recently submitted a KD 51.959 million project to the State Audit Bureau for study, auditing, and approval to proceed with contracting the selected company to begin work. The project aims to establish, complete, develop, and maintain roads and intersections along Maqwa Road that will serve the new passenger terminal at Kuwait International Airport. According to sources, the ministry is committed to ensuring that all tender documents are completed in strict compliance with laws and regulations. This will allow the project to move forward smoothly during the implementation stages and prevent any potential financial violations. This is particularly important as the ministry is one of the government agencies under the oversight of the State Audit Bureau
