Céline Dion

PARIS, France, July 24: Céline Dion is preparing to make a grand return to the stage at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The acclaimed singer will headline the Opening Ceremony on July 26, marking her first live performance since revealing her diagnosis with stiff-person syndrome in 2022.

Dion arrived in Paris on July 23 and was spotted outside the Royal Monceau Hotel, where she signed autographs and greeted fans. Details about her performance remain confidential, but anticipation is high for the 56-year-old singer, who has expressed deep gratitude for her supporters during her challenging health journey.

In a recent interview with E! News, Dion shared how the encouragement from her fans has been a significant source of strength. "For a long time—for so many years—I have felt the love and the support of my fans around the world," she said. "They helped me to get where I am today."

Despite the difficulties posed by her diagnosis, Dion maintains a positive outlook. "It's not about choosing what you have," she explained. "It's dealing with what's happening."

Dion, who is a mother to René-Charles, 23, and twins Nelson and Eddy, 13, with her late husband René Angélil, has been diligently preparing for her comeback performance. She reflected on her preparation in an April interview with Vogue France, stating, "The way I see it, I have two choices: Either I train like an athlete and work super hard, or I switch off and it's over, I stay at home, listen to my songs, stand in front of my mirror and sing to myself."

The Paris Olympics will mark a significant milestone in Dion's return to live performance, and fans are eagerly awaiting her highly anticipated appearance at the Opening Ceremony.
