Central Agency for Information Technology stresses cooperation and experience sharing with GCC nations

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 29: Najat Ibrahim, Acting Director General of the Central Agency for Information Technology (CAIT), highlighted the critical importance of fostering collaboration and sharing expertise in information technology among Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states. Ibrahim made these remarks during a visit from the Saudi Export Development Authority to the Central Information Technology Agency, aimed at exploring the agency's services and strengthening ties between the two entities.

Ibrahim noted that discussions with the Saudi delegation covered the challenges Kuwait faces in the field of information technology, while also spotlighting the products and services showcased by Saudi companies, including those related to construction materials, logistics, and professional services.

She underscored the value of such visits in enhancing knowledge exchange, especially in digital transformation initiatives, and emphasized the role of the Information Technology Agency in providing insights into Kuwait's digital advancements. According to Ibrahim, these interactions are essential for staying aligned with the fast-paced evolution of technology in the region, leveraging Gulf expertise to bolster Kuwait's own digital transition.

Thamer Al-Musharafi, official spokesperson for the Saudi Export Development Authority, emphasized Kuwait’s strategic importance as a key international market for Saudi exporters. He revealed that Saudi exports to Kuwait during the first half of the year amounted to 3.7 billion Saudi Riyals (approximately 986 million USD), underscoring the strength of the bilateral trade relationship.

Al-Musharafi added that the Saudi delegation, during its three-day visit, consists of representatives from four government agencies and 14 diverse companies across various sectors. The mission aims to explore new opportunities and present targeted solutions to further solidify economic ties between Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
