KUWAIT CITY, April 25: The Court of Appeals referred a man, who was accused of killing his wife, dismembering her body, and placing various parts in several garbage containers, to psychiatry to examine his mental abilities. The Criminal Court had sentenced him to death by hanging, after the defense team representing the victim’s family had demanded the maximum penalty against the accused, which was death. They demanded adding the charge of possession of bladed weapons, namely a cleaver and a knife, which the accused had purchased to commit his crime. The defense lawyer said, “My client is not the killer, and the murdered person was not my client’s wife. She was his ex-wife and she was missing.”
