LOS ANGELES, Oct 12, (Agencies): Cher vehemently refutes a serious allegation made against her. Court documents that emerged last month contained an accusation that the 77-year-old music legend had orchestrated the kidnapping of her son, Elijah Blue Allman, from a New York hotel room. The alleged motive was to prevent him from reconciling with his estranged wife, Marie Angela King.

Addressing this allegation in an interview, Cher emphatically declared, "That rumor is entirely false." She chose not to delve further into the specific claim but did share her thoughts on Allman's reported struggles with addiction.

"I'm not grappling with any issue that countless others in the United States aren't facing. I'm a mother, and this is my role—doing whatever it takes to assist my children," she expressed. "When it comes to your children, you'll go to any lengths to help them. Being a mother means experiencing both joy and heartache. Most of the time, when you think of your children, it brings a smile, and you just love them and strive to support them."

Cher further added, "I could fill volumes with what I don't know about parenting. I simply continue to make an effort."

The initial accusation against Cher was made by Marie Angela King in December through court documents. According to the filings, King alleged that the singer, who shares her 47-year-old son with the late Gregg Allman, had hired four individuals to extract Allman from a hotel room on the night of their wedding anniversary.

The court documents state, "I was informed by one of the four men who took him that they were contracted by [Allman's] mother. Since August 2022, I have been informed that I am not allowed to see or communicate with [Allman], who is currently in confinement at an undisclosed treatment facility. I am also informed that [Allman] has no access to his phone."

The next court hearing regarding this case is scheduled for October 27 in Los Angeles.
