KUWAIT CITY, Aug 15: In celebration of 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the Chinese Embassy in Kuwait is pleased to launch the “Beautiful China” Photography Contest intended to promote people-to-people bonds between China and Kuwait, provide Kuwaiti people with a better understanding about China and China’s pursuit of Chinese modernization. The Chinese Embassy is now announcing an open call for photographic works related to China from the citizens of Kuwait and foreign friends living or working in Kuwait.

This contest, with the theme of “Beautiful China”, welcomes photos that depict the natural scenery, history, culture, folk customs, and social development of China from various angles and perspectives in a way that will present all the true, multidimensional, and all-round image of China and reflect the theory and practice of Chinese modernization.

All citizens of Kuwait and all foreign friends living or working in Kuwait, regardless of age or occupation can take part in the competition. Every entry must adhere closely to the given theme and be an original work that is created by the photographer on his or her own and has not been made public previously. No advertisement is allowed in any entry submitted for the contest.

There are no limits on the form in which the entries are created or arranged. Colorful and black and white photos, single photos, and photo series are all acceptable. Each participant may submit up to five pieces of photos, each of which needs to be explained briefly and be in JPG format with a resolution of no less than 1280x720 pixels and an image size of no less than 2M. Entries must be submitted together with the registration form chinakuwait50@ gmail.com and note “beautifulChina+name” in the subject of the email. Entries that contributed to the contest that were taken within China will be preferred and prioritized during the selection and appraisal process. Entries will be accepted until August 31, 2024.
