KUWAIT CITY, Feb 13: Following the Ministry of Interior’s announcement of the arrest of a Chinese gang involved in cyberattacks on banks and telecommunications towers in Kuwait, the Public Prosecution has ordered the detention of two foreign nationals for activities endangering national security. According to a prosecution statement, investigations revealed that the accused had entered Kuwait in coordination with associates in China, receiving instructions to carry out cyberattacks. Using specialized electronic devices, they targeted telecommunications towers, sending fraudulent messages on a large scale to gain illegal access to individuals’ banking data through their mobile phones.
