KUWAIT CITY, Dec 6: Director General of Residency Detectives Brigadier Saud Al-Khudr and Director General of Public Affairs and Security Media Brigadier Adel Al-Hashash have warned the citizens and expatriates against dealing with dummy domestic labor offices.

In a press statement, the two officials explained the number of advertisements on social communication media about offices, which provide domestic workers (maids) on full time or part time basis, has been increasing.

They said these offices operate along with the maids to swindle and steal from unsuspecting people who avail of their services. Al-Khudr appealed to the public to deal only with domestic labor offices registered in the Ministry of Interior.

In case of any problem, they should visit the Domestic Workers Department in the Directorate General of Residency Affairs in Dajeej, Farwaniya or call emergency number 112 in order to find proper solutions, he asserted. He added the Directorate General of Residency Affairs and Directorate General of Residency Detectives are working hand in hand to conduct surprise inspection campaigns and arrest domestic workers found to have violated the law, in addition to raiding dummy domestic labor offices.

He affirmed the Directorate General of Residency Detectives are closely coordinating with advertising agencies to stop the publication of such advertisements because it contributes to the crimes committed by dummy labor offices and unregistered domestic workers. He also confirmed the formation of a team to investigate these advertisements.
