KUWAIT CITY, March 20: The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has announced the official holiday schedule for Eid al-Fitr for the Hijri year 1446. The holiday will apply to all ministries, government agencies, public bodies, and institutions, with specific dates determined based on the sighting of the moon.
The CSC outlined the following scenarios for the Eid al-Fitr holiday:
1. If Sunday, March 30, 2025, is confirmed as the first day of Eid al-Fitr:
The official holidays will be observed on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Regular work hours will resume on Wednesday, April 2, 2025.
2. If Monday, March 31, 2025, is confirmed as the first day of Eid al-Fitr:
The holiday will extend from Sunday to Thursday. In this case, Sunday and Thursday will be considered rest days, while Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday will be official holidays. Regular work hours will resume on Sunday, April 6, 2025.
The CSC also noted that agencies and entities with specialized operational requirements will determine their holiday schedules independently, ensuring that public interests are adequately addressed.
