KUWAIT CITY, June 12: Muhammad Sandan, Director of the Public Relations Department at the municipality, clarified that all services provided by the Funeral Affairs Department are offered free of charge, encompassing the transportation, preparation, washing, shrouding, and burial of the deceased. In a press release, Sandan refuted claims regarding the mandatory purchase of a burial coffin for 30 dinars, emphasizing that this information is inaccurate. He explained that the coffin service is optional and not obligatory, catering to those who prefer to cover the expenses themselves. Sandan noted that this optional service has been available for years, responding to citizens’ requests for autonomy in preparing the bodies of their loved ones.
