KUWAIT CITY, June 24: Local clubs are gearing up for the 2024-2025 season by developing comprehensive plans and preparation programs, and securing contracts with both local and international players to bolster their squads ahead of the new season.

Al-Arabi, also known as “Al-Akhdar,” has kicked off its preparations for the upcoming season. The General Director of the Football Sector, Khaled Al-Fabadi, recently met with the technical and administrative staff of the first team to finalize the preparation program. This meeting also aimed to organize administrative and technical tasks and outline the goals and work strategy before training begins and the team heads to their planned foreign camp in Bosnia.

Training sessions are set to start next Saturday at Al-Sahel Stadium, pending the completion of maintenance at Sabah Al-Salem Stadium. Al-Arabi expressed gratitude to Al-Sahel Club, especially Secretary Abdul Latif Al-Anazi, and the head of the football apparatus, Dr. Ahmed Ajab, for allowing them to use their facilities in “Abu Halifa.”

Kuwait SC has renewed the contracts of Sami Al-Sanea and Youssef Nasser for another season. Negotiations are ongoing for the renewal of Mohammed Freih, Mishary Ghannam, and Fahd Hammoud. Additionally, a contract with Argentine professional Sergio Vitura will soon be announced.

The technical and administrative staff has scheduled the start of the first team’s training for tomorrow, with plans to leave for a European training camp in mid-July. Kuwait SC is focusing on the AFC Champions League 2 qualifying round, with a challenging match against Bahrain’s Al-Ahly on August 14th.

Al-Nasr has bolstered its squad with the acquisition of striker Fawaz Mbilish, player Ahmed Yahya, and Talal Jaza from Kuwait SC. It has also reached an agreement with Al-Jahra goalkeeper Badr Al-Ajmi. These new additions join Fawaz Al-Rashidi, Fahd Al-Salama, Saad Al-Adhab, and Al-Jahra goalkeeper Hamad Al-Khalidi, who were previously contracted.

Al-Nasr was the first team to commence training for the new season, starting the day before yesterday under the leadership of coach Zaher Al-Adwani and with the attendance of 23 players. Al-Adwani emphasized the importance of adhering to the technical and administrative staff’s instructions and encouraged players to strive for top performance to achieve the best results.

Al-Nasr is planning an external camp in the second week of July, with Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, being the most likely location.
