KUWAIT CITY, Feb 22: Meteorologist Issa Ramadan has warned that Kuwait, along with other Gulf countries including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, the UAE, and parts of Oman, Iraq, Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon, will be severely affected by a cold wave sweeping through the region this week.
In a post shared on his account on the "X" platform, Ramadan confirmed that snow is already falling on the mountains of some of these countries. He further explained in a video update that temperatures are expected to plummet significantly starting Sunday afternoon, with heavy snowfall anticipated in mountainous areas of the affected nations.
This weather event comes amid a growing trend of extreme cold waves in the region, which have seen varying impacts on local populations. Meteorologists have advised residents to prepare for sharp drops in temperature and potential disruptions, especially in higher altitudes where snow is expected.
